James R. Collier, MSc, CPP

After 10 years’ service with the British military as a member of, and later instructor for, a special operations unit including diverse operational deployments, I started my second career in the private security industry.

Over the last 27 years I have had the opportunity to gain extensive international experience in Africa, the Middle East, Western & Southern Asia, South America and Western & Eastern Europe.

I have provided protective security and consulted for clients from industry and business, as well as NGOs and diplomatic missions. In addition, I also have many years of experience in the training of security forces in anti-terrorist security measures and close protection tactics.

I have focused increasingly on the topic of travel security and hostile environment training for business travelers and employees of development organizations and have had the opportunity to pass on my international experiences to participants in over 100 training seminars.

In 2020 I received my Master of Science Degree in Risk, Crisis & Resilience Management with the University of Portsmouth.

As a long term member of the leading international association for security professionals ASIS International, in 2014 I became board certified as a "Certified Protection Professional, (CPP)" an internationally recognised Security Management qualification.
